Confluence Queens manager, Whyte Ogbonda, says Wednesday’s victory over Abia Angels will give his team the confidence to build on ahead of the second round of games.
The ‘New direction Ladies’ got their second victory of the 2019 NWPL campaign winning ‘The angels from the east’ by 2-0 at the Lokoja Township Stadium and Ogbonda was delighted to see first and second half goals from Arit Usang and Esther Kanu respectively.
Ogbonda really want to see his side compete at the Super four and will be hoping they can continue with the momentum when the league resumes on the 28th of August.
“Its important to get another victory today, Abia Angels tried so hard but we scored when it mattered most,” He told theNWFL.com
“Everyone at this club need to believe in what they can give on match days. We must fight together to play at the Super four. We know what we are capable of doing and delivering positive results on the pitch is important.”
Confluence Queens ended the first round of games on top of Group D with 7 points and will travel down to Ntigha to face Abia Angels in two weeks time.
