Police Machine FC midfielder, Etim Edidiong, believes her team boasts the spirit, determination and talent to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat in the hands of a more experience Pelican Stars.
Pelican Stars midfielder Ogechi Ukwuokama’s scored a brace, while Monica Ohaeche and Funmi Onakoya also found the net in an interesting encounter at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Tuesday afternoon.
The Ademola Seriki side fought hard but couldn’t cope with the attacking force of seven times NWPL champions and Edidiong thinks they will do better when they face Moje Queens tomorrow.
“We are not happy as a team, we thought we were going to do better, but we will put the scoreline behind, We wont let it bring us down, we need to be focused on our next game against Moje Queens.
“We need to create more chances and score more goals in our next game if we ever want to gain promotion to the elite league.
“Its so unfortunate that we lost two of our players, whom we cherish. We came to this competition with a very heavy heart. Its an emotional situation for us and we need to face the reality that they aren’t here with us again. We shall keep pushing hard.
