Nasarawa Amazons captain Mariam Ibrahim expects a tough game against Delta Queens in the final Group clash of the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) Super 4 on Thursday.
The Amazons have sealed a ticket in the final of the Super 4 following two wins in two games in the tourney.
The improved team cohesion under coach Michael Oluwaseyi Olaoye will however be put to another stern test by the energetic Delta Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Thursday in Benin City.
Defender Ibrahim admits the vital game against Delta will not be an easy one.
“This game is going to be an interesting one and it is not going to be easy for us,” she said.
“They [Delta Queens] also play good football so they will be a very tough side.”
Meanwhile, Mariam Ibrahim has expressed her optimism of playing an important part in the Amazons’ quest for success.
The big defender who has been on the sidelines in the past 12 weeks due to an harmstring injury is in line to feature in the final of the Super 4.
“It has been frustrating sitting out for such a long time,” Mariam Ibrahim told thenwfl.com.
“My recovery is well on track and I have started light training. I should hopefully play in the final of the Super 4,” she added.
