Newly appointed head coach of Nigeria Women Premier League side, Osun Babes, Mike Ekpenyong, has stated that he looks forward to achieving something great with the team as they start preparation for the 2019/2020 NWPL season.
The team narrowly escaped relegation last season and the former Bayelsa Queens tactician feels the team has all it takes to compete for titles.
He said: “Osun Babes is a team with a lot of potentials and of course tradition. It is one of the oldest clubs in the Nigeria Women Premier League and that means a lot.
He noted: “I look forward to working with the players and also doing something great with the team.
“I watched some of the team’s games last season and I believe we can achieve a lot together, I know it could be difficult but at the same time we have the players and talents that can do that. Ekpenyong told thenwfl.com
He continued: We’re going to try and make sure that all of the relevant players stay here and we have also been making some aggressive approach for some quality players to join the team ahead of the new season.
