Goalkeeper Benjamin Udoka is on the verge of joining Edo Queens from neighbours Delta Queens.
The young goalkeeper told thenwfl.com that her decision to leave the ‘Okowa Ladies’ after three years was down to her desire for regular playing time.
The former Martins Whyte Doves goalkeeper has struggled for playing time in Asaba as she failed to fight off a stiff competition from team captain Ihuoma Onuegbu and Super Falcons goalkeeper Christiana Ohiarieakhu for the starting position.
Edo Queens will be confirming the signature of the player this week subject to her clearance from the ‘Okowa Ladies’ and her inclusion will help strengthen the squad ahead of the second round of NWPL.
“I am delighted at joining an ambitious club like Edo Queens. This move is good for my career, because it will give me the opportunity to play regularly and also win trophies with the team.
“When you come to top clubs, you are always going to have to compete for your place and that’s what am going to be doing with the ‘Obaseki Ladies’. I will give everything I have got and hopefully play as many games as I can. She told thenwfl.com
“I had great and memorable time at Asaba, but as a professional, you always want to play competitive games. But, I didn’t get the opportunity to exhibit what I can do as a goalkeeper. I wish the team the best and I hope they can achieve their aim of going through to the Super 4.” She concluded.
