Delta Queens forward, Maryann Ohadiwe, has confirmed to thenwfl.com that she is leaving the ‘Okowa Ladies’ for a fresh challenge in Benin City.
The forward joined Delta Queens in 2017 from Adamawa Queens and has six months to run on her current contract but has shown no inclination to renew for another year in Asaba, instead she will be joining the train heading to Edo Queens.
Ohadiwe, has been heavily linked with a move to Osun Babes who are looking at adding more signings for their second round campaign, but the young forward chose the ‘Obaseki Ladies’ ahead of the ‘Omoluabi Queens’.
She said: “I feel I need a new challenge and a new atmosphere and I believe I can get a new experience at Edo Queens.
“I have the deepest love and respect for Delta Queens, but I think its time for me to go play somewhere else and learn more.
“Edo Queens are a team that is hungry for success and I want to make history with the club and that’s why am here. She told thenwfl.com.
Ohadiwe during her two seasons at Delta Queens scored ten goals in all competition despite her fringe appearances in the blue and white jersey of Delta Queens, but has promised to set a target and standard for herself at her new club.
“Its a new mentality for me, a new dawn I believe. I am really looking forward to scoring so many goals for my new club. Also want to set a target for myself and hope to achieve it at the end of this campaign and beyond. First is to qualify top of our group and play at the Super 4 and that’s our main target.” She concluded
