The Nigeria Women Premier League will return in week 5 with a bang, as Edo Queens and DreamStars ladies kick off proceedings at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Benin.

The hosts dropped two points at the same venue last week against a very stubborn side Adamawa Queens but remains optimistic of a better result in week 5.

Elsewhere, Invincible Angels will host Abia Angels, Confluence Queens visit Ibom Angels, Adamawa Queens take on Heartland Queens , Delta Queens will welcome Osun Babes, as Nasarawa Amazons play Sunshine Queens in Lafia and Bayelsa Queens travel to Kaduna to face Kaduna Queens.

NWPL expert Olayinka Olawole is here with his latest round of predictions and preview of the week 5 encounters.

IBOM ANGELS VS CONFLUENCE QUEENS (Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium).

Confluence Queens will put their perfect record on the line against Ibom Angels at the Ikot Ekpene Stadium on Wednesday evening against a side who have lost two of four and badly need a positive result to get back on track.

It would be an emotional atmosphere for Confluence Queens manager Whyte Ogbonda who spent three glorious seasons with the ‘Orange Ladies’ taking them to two AITEO Cup finals.

The ‘Orange Ladies’ did win their last game 2-0 against Invincible Angels and Confluence Queens haven’t lost a game so far. Adoo Yina, Happiness Titus and Kemi Famuditi are all in great form, while Koku Damilola, Precious Edewor are also good to go. We should expect a great game here with more than three goals.

PREDICTION: Ibom Angels 2 Confluence Queens 2.

FC ROBO VS RIVERS ANGELS (Legacy Football Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere.)

Rivers Angels have enough depth to cope with their potential absence as some of their key players are away on national assignment. FC Robo have plenty of momentum going for them after their victory against Delta Queens lastweek. A win for them means they will go on top and a win for ‘Jewel of Rivers’ means they will remain on top. Vivian Ikechukwu is in great form as well as Tobiloba Olarenwaju. Folajomi Olabiyi wants another goal after scoring her first goal of the season for the ‘Lagos Landladies’ lastweek. FC Robo will come with a very strong attack, its up to Rivers Angels to defend well and take their chances whenever it comes.

PREDICTION: FC Robo 1 Rivers Angels 1

INVINCIBLE ANGELS VS ABIA ANGELS (Aper Aku Stadium, Markudi).

Invicinble Angels are a very strong side at home, they havent lost at home this season and will be looking forward to keeping the momentum as they face a very good Abia Angels side.

A win for either side will keep their hope of survival alive. It’s going to be a difficult game to predict but the home team seems to be more determined to pick a good result at home. Abia Angels lost some key players during the mid season transfer and might not be as strong as they used to be. I think the Gboko girls should go with this.

PREDICTION: Invincible Angels 2 Abia Angels 1.

DELTA QUEENS VS OSUN BABES (Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba).

Delta Queens will view Osun Babes as a target in this game and the feeling is that they will be more fired up for this premier league clash in Asaba after losing to FC Robo lastweek.

The ‘Omoluabi Queens’ are coming off a couple of frustrating results and things just do not seem to be going well for Liadi Bashir and his players, but he remains optimistic of a great game and a great result for his players. Tosan Blackson wants a win so also Maryann Ezeanagu and Brume Ikhekua.

Osun Babes can pull out surprises when you least expect, Yetunde Fajobi who had a good game against Rivers Angels told journalists before the team departed for Asaba that the result will be a positive one.

PREDICTION: Delta Queens 1 Osun Babes 0

KADUNA QUEENS VS BAYELSA QUEENS (Kaduna Township Stadium, Kaduna).

Aminu Shuaibu enjoyed his first taste of success as a Kaduna Queens Coach against Nasarawa Amazons last week and will be hoping to build on that when the ‘Restoration Ladies’ visit Kaduna on Wednesday.

Bayelsa Queens wants to win in Kaduna to seal their Super four slot, but it won’t be an easy task as they face a rejuvenated Kaduna Queens side who surprisingly defeated Nasarawa Amazons last week.

To me, it will be a big surprise if they get another favourable result against Bayelsa Queens on Wednesday as they did last week. I think Bayelsa Queens will be tough for them to handle.

PREDICTION: Kaduna Queens 1 Bayelsa Queens 2.

ADAMAWA QUEENS VS HEARTLAND QUEENS (Pantanmi Stadium, Gombe)

Adamawa Queens are expected to win this game at home in Gombe. They have been a very consistent side and haven’t conceded a goal in four matches.

Last week’s result in Benin have given them more hope for the Super 4 qualification and they won’t want to draw against Heartland Queens in Gombe tomorrow. I see Adamawa Queens winning this, but also think they will concede for the first time on Wednesday.

PREDICTION: Adamawa Queens 3 Heartland Queens 1.

EDO QUEENS VS DREAMSTARS LADIES (UNIBEN Sports Complex, Benin).

Edo Queens must have recovered well from their disappointing goalless home draw against Adamawa Queens last week, and have the chance to build more momentum when they host the ‘The pride of Lagos’ on Wednesday. DreamStars Ladies have been entertaining to watch so far since coming up to the premier league, but their defensive frailties are there for all to see and could prove costly in Benin.

Its definitely going to be a difficult game for the ‘Pride of Lagos’ but am sure they will give a great fight.

PREDICTION: Edo Queens 2 DreamStars Ladies 0.

NASARAWA AMAZONS VS SUNSHINE QUEENS (Lafia City Stadium, Lafia)

This tie has been shifted away from Wednesday to Saturday, for some obvious reasons. Nasarawa Amazons lost their last game against Kaduna Queens lastweek and will be searching for a win on Saturday.

The ‘Solid Babes’ have all what it takes to win against Sunshine Queens in Lafia. Sunshine Queens are a very difficult side to beat away from home.

PREDICTION: Nasarawa Amazons 1 Sunshine Queens 0
