Police Machine FC of Uyo Head Coach, Oladipupo Seriki, believes winning promotion to the Nigeria Women Premier League is all the team needs to cover up for all their handwork all through the year.
The Ikorodu-born tactician in a chat with thenwfl.com said the Uyo-based team knows what it means playing in the Pro-League after narrowly missing out of promotion last season to Dream Stars Ladies at the Benin City centre.
He assured that, the team is far better than what they used to be despite losing one of their best players, Glory Archibong, to Moje Queens.
“We are a better side now, with or without Glory Archibong. She was fantastic for us last season, but we lost her to our rival, that doesn’t take away the quality in our team. We are ready to battle with the other teams in Lokoja. Seriki told thenwfl.com
“We still have most members of the squad that lost out in the chase for the premier league ticket last season, and luckily for us we are familiar with our opponents. We have watched some of Pelican Stars’ games. We played with Moje Queens last season, but haven’t seen much of Olori Babes, but above all, we are sure of doing well and winning our games.
“Winning our first match means a lot. If we win the first game, then we can forge ahead with the other ones. I have told my players that starting well means you have the opportunity of going far. In a league where every team wants promotion, we don’t have any choice but to play well from the blast of the whistle. My players are good enough and I trust them. I should worry less, he said.
