There will be plenty of familiar faces on show as the Nigeria Women Premier League Super 4 kicks off next week at the Agege Township Stadium, Lagos.

Definitely, there are also a number of players hoping to make an impression on the big stage at the first of asking.

The has picked 5 players embarking on their first Super 4 Campaign who are worth watching.

ANJOR MARY (Bayelsa Queens).

Anjor Mary maybe familiar to the Nigeria Women premier league fans but has never played at the Super 4 Championship. The 19 year old made headlines in her two years stints at Osun Babes, becoming highest goalscorer at the AITEO Cup and second highest goalscorer in the league behind Anam Imo. She moved to Bayelsa Queens in January and started off brilliantly, scoring six goals in six appearances for the ‘Restoration Girls’ including a brace against Nasarawa Amazons in Lafia.

BLESSING OKPE (Rivers Angels)

Blessing Okpe is another young striker who has made a fantastic start at her new club this season. Rivers Angels signed the young player to help the trio of Yetunde Adeboyejo, Chioma Wogu and Vivian Ikechukwu upfront. Arriving from Ibom Angels where she played in two consecutive Federation Cup finals, Okpe
will be playing at her first Super 4 Championship this year.

A key figure in the Falconets team that won gold at the All African Games in Rabat, Morocco, the Aba born left-footed player is blessed with skills. The attacking midfielder can play anywhere behind the striker and has eyes for goals. She began her professional career at Abia Angels, before moving to Ibom Angels, where she played for Whyte Ogbonda before moving to Confluence Queens with him this summer. She stood out for the ‘New Direction’ ladies this season and now has a chance to prove herself at the biggest stage, the Super 4.

CELINE OTTAH (Bayelsa Queens)

Bayelsa Queens signed Celine Ottah from South-South neighbours Ibom Angels over the summer to complement the effort of Ameerat Adebisi at the midfield. The young midfielder has tremendous ability on the ball and covered a lot of distances and completed more dribbles than anyone at the midfield and definitely she is one of the reasons they topped their difficult group.

Supremely confident in possession, she keeps the ball effortlessly and can breeze past opponents as she moves out at times from her position.

She has never played at the Super 4, but will be doing so this year with Bayelsa Queens.

MARVELOUS DURU (Adamawa Queens)

Marvelous Duru scored twice as Adamawa Queens will be playing at the Super 4 Championship for the first time in their history.

Marvellous Duru is regarded as a special player and has spent over five seasons at Yola. She has a great attacking partnership with Omede Regina, another player that did so well during the season.

Marvelous will be hoping to replicate the same form she exhibited during the season at her first Super 4 Championship in Lagos.
