Nigeria Women Football League chairperson, Aisha Falode has urged the Falconets to be ready to make the nation proud when they face Tanzania ladies in the 2018 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier first round, first leg match on Saturday in Benin City.

She made the admonition on Thursday when she stormed the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to monitor the Falconets’ training session ahead of the match.

Falode used the opportunity to interact with the team’s technical crew led by Christopher Danjuma and motivate the girls ahead of the first leg match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday.

“I’m happy to be in your midst and to actually ascertain your progress and we are going to put our heads together to ensure the success of the team in the first leg match against Tanzania.

“I’m always interested in the welfare of coaches and players, and with the cooperation of the NFF, you will get the desired support,” the astute administrator told Nwfl.com.ng.

“The team is managed by result-oriented coaches and I have known the trio of Christopher Danjuma, Mansur Abdullahi and Wemimo Matthew for a very long time and you have to listen to them for us to achieve good results,” Falode told the youngsters.

Last year, the Falconets crashed out in the first round of the FIFA U20 World Cup and they will be hoping for redemption starting with Saturday’s match against the Tanzanian girls.

Saturday’s battle will be the first encounter between both sides at age grade level.
