Anjor Mary scored yet again as Bayelsa Queens defeated Sunshine Queens by a lone goal at the Samson Siasia stadium, Yenagoa on Wednesday afternoon.

Most importantly, Bayelsa Queens ended the first round of the 2019 Nigeria Women Premier with a victory and the former Abia Angels forward scored her fourth goal in three consecutive games.

The ‘Owena Mermaids’ started well, but Anjor Mary opened the scoring in the 55th minute scoring from the penalty spot against the run of play.

Sunshine Queens tried to come back in the game later on, when innocent Patricia’s effort was deflected away for a corner kick, which Okeke expertly dealt with.

Bayelsa Queens recorded a 100% feat in the first round following their victory on Wednesday afternoon and will face Sunshine Queens in Akure when the league resumes on the 28th of August.
